House DOTS. that’s what I’m sticking with.
Have some more. My delivery route takes me through some interesting areas. I’ve found the best way to deal with most people is to be insanely over-the-top happy. It scares the crazies off, it’s reciprocated by a surprisingly large percentage of the rest, and it makes the day feel shorter and easier because psychology.
My smiley facade ALMOST cracked though, when I realized a bank executive had somehow managed to get a 175 pound foam mattress accepted on a FedEx Ground route, and wanted it delivered to his 8th floor office. And then.... Decided to refuse the package upon arrival at said 8th floor. Fun fact, you can’t put a king size mattress on a dolly, because it won’t fit through any doors. Fun fact two, soloing a mattress up and down 8 floors is slightly less enjoyable than it sounds.
*smile intensifies x10000*
I’m burned out. I almost quit on Monday after my work load doubled due to someone else’s incompetence. Then I reminded myself that I’m working two full-time jobs 6 days a week, and would literally feel this way no matter what temporary job I had. Just gotta grind it out until anuary and I’m golden...
On the major plus side, I’m taking Saturday off to wash windows. I’ll be making about $1100 for a 3.5 hour job. Why did I ever stop doing this

Taping notes to the outside of your door instead of calling out neighbors directly is the most Seattle thing.

Sometimes I feel like if I took a samurai sword and swung it wildly around me, I'd feel a thick resistance as the blade passed through the miasma of passive-aggressiveness

Slightly disturbing. Don't tell me this was one of the places you and your wife lived in earlier..?

Is there a social media group of some sort for FedEx/delivery drivers? I feel like it would be entertaining to follow. There's gotta be a subreddit or something.

Buckle up for The Dr. Zoidberg Show!™
I moved in my wife in the summer of 2010 at Lakeside Apartments, unit J(?)201. Living with three other people (two couples, two bedrooms), my share of rent was a mere $218.75... Just think about that.
Our building (directly across the the MLT City Center, so northeast) was detached, has plenty of parking, and was not as terrifying as the rest of the complex. We also had the top floor corner unit. Other than the kid below playing bass guitar until 11pm every night, it was actually a pretty sweet gig. Yes, the complex as a whole is awful. As were most of the tenants, the “lake,” the so-called gym (two ellipticals = gym, apparently), those fucking evil geese, and the nasty community pool.
But 218 bucks rent, 10 minutes drive to work — sometimes I’d even walk — 20 minute drive to Capitol Hill to tie one on ... There were some good times.

No, I recognize the plaque for the unit number.

You know, with the landscaping and exterior care, they actually look pretty nice-ish from outside! Those hallways though.... They really reek. It’s hstrange h ow noticeably better the standalone buildings are from the bigger ones in the center.
Small world. From 220th to 212th, and a few miles of 99 is my route. And yeah, I ’d live in muuuuuuch worse for $200/month ....
How's the job? Done with the the 5-10 days for now?

You should give up deliveries and become a writer. That was good.

Work is not the best right now. I'm just trying to power though to my vacation in December.

It’s none of my business, but if I may ask does window washing typically pay that much across the board? Are there loose tigers involved or something I’m missing?

they’ve never dropped a parcel at 27 yet....damn near every other house on my street ive had...but not that one
its either some kind of postie trolling.... or the lady in 27 is a postie repellant
